Auditions to be Held for the Dog Whisperer in Houston!
PRODUCERS FROM DOG WHISPERER HOLD AUDITIONS
IN HOUSTON, TEXAS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 25
Don’t miss your chance to meet with the producers of Dog Whisperer to audition to be on the show! Be prepared to describe your dog’s issue and bring video footage which shows the problem behavior to submit to the producers. Submissions cannot be accepted without a video.
Dog Whisperer is looking for a wide variety of dog problems, including unusual phobias, obsessions, fearful behavior, aggression, or any other unique situations that Cesar could help transform.
Dogs are welcome, but your dog does not need to attend to be considered. For safety reasons, the producers ask that you leave your aggressive dog at home. In order to capture footage of aggression, they recommend keeping the dog on a leash, behind a fence, or in a muzzle. Please do not put yourself or your dog in danger while trying to film the behavior.
SATURDAY, APRIL 25th
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
PETCO

Houston, TX 77070-1532

Can’t make it to the audition? Submit a video application. In the video, we would like you to introduce yourself and your dog. Give us your name, age, and occupation, as well as the dog’s name, age, and breed. Tell us the problems your dog is having and how these issues are affecting your life. Also, let us know what you love about your dog. We would like you to capture at least three instances of your dog’s bad behavior.

Well, you know Mom had a very busy week as did most of the other rescue volunteers. We have been working on our Pet Expo Event, getting things together. Shawn has been busy contacting businesses for donations for raffle, Mom is going to get busy also. If you would like to donate an item such as a gift card, or just about anything we could use for our raffle…just let us know!
We are in desperate need for foster homes at this time. More than ever, GWP’s are finding themselves being relinquished by their owners, or in shelters. We have an extreme need in KY and Ks. We also could use foster homes in various other Midwestern states. As we become known through the Sessions with Cesar Rescue Program, local events, and over the internet, requests for help are for an all time high. Help with managing their Gwp’s from the Kansas City Metro area have been staggering. For a small donation, we will come out and assess the situation and devise a plan for management. If a certified professional is needed, we will recommend this also. Most times the trouble has been from a lack of exercise and structure. We recommend Cesar’s online training course Sessions With Cesar for all dog owners! If you check out Sessions, and decide to sign up Please use code 3F5AE2C8 to benefit GWP Rescue, Inc.
We are pleased to have been selected to be part of the Sessions Beta testers to try out the site before the launch to the public, and have the honor to have been selected to be part of the Sessions with Cesar Rescue Program. Please see our website “Rescue Program” or go to resources on the Sessions site to read about the program.
Lastly, I am so proud of Mom….she is a little shy, but has started to give Dog Bite Prevention Seminars for children Pre-K through 5th Grade. Her curriculum is from DoggoneSafe.com. This is an interactive seminar that teaches kids not to hug or kiss us, how to recognize body language, what to do in case they are attacked by a strange dog or how to approach a dog with permission from the owner. Always ask permission from your parent first, and ask the owner to have their dog sit. If the dog won’t listen to their owner, then do not approach the dog. This tells them the dog is not under control of the owner. Using tools learned in the seminar, children can empower themselves in situations where they are not comfortable. Even if it is a dog that is just too frisky…”Stand like a tree”. Mom feels like this is a way to give to the community, and help with a donation for the rescue. She is currently working with some local agencies to set up programs within the community.
Keep Daisy in your thoughts and prayers. She is going through her first heartworm treatment on Monday. She is in the final stages, and becoming very thin. She is a wonderful loving dog that would make someone a fine companion. She is a gem…so let’s send a lot of positive energy her way okay!
Well, my paws are getting sore from typing…Please let us hear from you!
Your Pawpal,
Buddy

Mom’s Too Busy
Hi everybody….Buddy here. Mom just got so busy with rescue, fundraisers, planning, grant writing, dogs on treadmills, dogs at training…well, you get the idea. She ran herself ragged…so i had a long sit down with her. She decided to turn the blog over to me…what better that a wirehair talking about wirehairs?
Mom is a Cesar Millan Ambassador, and a Sessions with Cesar Ambassador
She helps people on the community forum with information and problems using Cesar’s solutions she has learned through Cesar’s Books, DVD’s, products and from the 115 dogs she has rehabilitated using Cesar’s Way.
My story is on One True Media.com
Mom has had a lot of exciting things happen in the last few months. Lots of adoptions, lots of help from volunteers, and she got licensed to do Dog Bite Prevention Seminars for kids K-5th grade. She has done a few of these and the kids love it. She’ll start work with the Johnson County Health Dept soon. She has a lot of other irons in the fire like the capital campaign for the new building….now that will be something for sure!
Well, enough from me. We have two new fosters…Daisy and Suzy. Daisy needs a lot just now so better got help Mom.
Please see our website www.GWPRescue.com to see the new kids, and read the News on our website….pretty great to be a rescue wirehair!

Rescue dogs and Behavior
Hi All…as you know by looking at the new dogs we have brought into our rescue
www.GWPRescue.com Adoption page, we have been faced with some pretty tough issues.
We have had several adoptions again bang, bang, bang…..which is awesome!
Sophie, Moose, Casper, Herman the German, and now little Gracie looks like she will be also going into a wonderful home! Did I leave anyone out?…Oh Max! How could I forget?
Max’s parents saw him on the website and drive all the way from Buffalo, NY with their GWP Lucy to meet Max in Kansas! Wow, what a match made in Heaven!
Say a prayer, send good vibes, meditate…so Lily and Indi also can find such good homes. They are coming along. Indi is ready! Her eye surgery went extremely well, and she us set to go now. She is a great girl….
Tilly, Boris, and now sweet Buffy will get care and comfort. So check them all out if you are not a member of our group and see the wonderful dogs we have for adoption!
